Donation to Mama Wendy
Mama Wendy is a mother of five who goes to sleep each night unsure whether her children will eat the next day. With no steady income, hunger was a constant presence in her home. There were days she skipped meals entirely so her children could eat, carrying a quiet fear that no parent should ever have to endure.
“Some days, my children would ask for food and I had no answer. I could only pray that help would come,” Mama Wendy shared.
Beyond the struggle for food, Mama Wendy worried deeply about her children’s future. She believed education was the only way out of poverty, yet school felt fragile when survival came first. The possibility that her children might be forced to drop out weighed heavily on her heart.
Unable to read or write, Mama Wendy faced even greater barriers when seeking support. Still, she refused to give up. After asking around her community, she learned about EOA Foundation and approached the organization in September 2025 to apply for a grant. A volunteer patiently sat with her, listened to her story, and helped her complete and submit the application.
As Mama Wendy learned more about EOA Foundation’s mission and compassion, she was deeply moved. Even before knowing whether she would receive any support, she chose to give back. Despite her own hardship, Mama Wendy became a volunteer, determined to support others who were facing the same hunger, fear, and uncertainty she was living through.
In January, EOA Foundation answered Mama Wendy’s plea by awarding her 1,000 Ghana cedis to restart her small trading business. For Mama Wendy, this support was far more than financial assistance; it was a lifeline. It meant food on the table, dignity restored, and the possibility of a better tomorrow for her children. EOA Foundation recognized not only her need, but her determination to build a sustainable future for her family.
EOA Foundation’s support did not stop with the grant. The foundation remains committed to walking alongside Mama Wendy through regular follow-ups, mentorship, and guidance to help her grow her business and manage it successfully. This continued support is helping transform a moment of crisis into a pathway toward long-term stability and self-reliance.
Today, Mama Wendy carries hope where there was once despair. She can now imagine a future where her children eat regularly, remain in school, and grow up with dignity.
Her story is a powerful reminder of why EOA Foundation exists: when we support one woman, we help feed a family, protect a future, and restore hope to those who need it most.
