About Us
The EOA Foundation was established in loving memory of Emma Asiamah, affectionately known as Auntie Emma, who tragically passed away on May 9th, 2013. Auntie Emma was a beacon of compassion, renowned for her selflessness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping others. She had an extraordinary ability to bring joy and hope to those who needed it most.
To honour her remarkable legacy, we her family and friends launched the EOA Foundation. Inspired by her life, we are dedicated to changing the world one small act of kindness at a time.
We work in critical areas such as women’s health, education, humane treatment in prisons, and sustainable livelihoods. By tackling the root causes of poverty and empowering marginalised communities, we strive to create meaningful and lasting change.
Auntie Emma taught us that a smile can change someone’s world. Her love and kindness live on in every life we touch through this foundation.
How you can help
The EOA Foundation is run entirely by volunteers, ensuring every penny raised goes directly to the projects we support. Donors can choose how their contributions are spent and witness the tangible impact of their generosity.
Join us in keeping Auntie Emma’s legacy alive. Whether through a donation, volunteering, or sharing our mission, your support can make a world of difference. Together, we can create a kinder, brighter future for all.
Our Vision
At the EOA Foundation, our vision is a world free from poverty, where justice, dignity, and opportunity are within reach for all. We believe in empowering individuals and communities to become their own beacons of hope, lighting the way to a brighter, more inclusive future.
We are dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups—widows, orphans, prisoners, and those living in poverty—by providing the tools, education, and resources they need to transform their lives. Our goal is to create lasting, generational change by addressing root causes and fostering resilience and self-reliance.
Together, we can build a future where no one is left behind, where communities stand united in driving positive change, and where every person has the opportunity to live with dignity and purpose. Join us in making this vision a reality.
Our Mission
At the EOA Foundation, we believe in transforming lives and restoring hope where it is most needed. Our mission is to deliver transformative solutions that empower widows and orphans, promote education in underserved communities, and provide essential hygiene products to those in need.
We are committed to supporting the reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals through education, skill-building, and community support, while also feeding the hungry, supplying basic necessities, and providing relief to vulnerable populations.
Through collaborative efforts, we aim to tackle inequality and create pathways to brighter futures, equipping individuals with the tools to thrive and breaking cycles of poverty. Together, we are building a world where dignity, opportunity, and hope are accessible to all.
what we do
Across the world, someone dies every second leaving a family grieving, on the brink of financial collapse and struggling to fend for themselves. Families are broken by loss and the surviving parties are faced with the harshest of circumstances in trying to survive each day.
Widows are faced with a never ending grief while trying to comfort and provide for multiple grieve stricken children, with no support, no livelihoods and basic necessities being a struggle to obtain; life becomes unimaginably tough. At EOA Foundation we want to give these families a lifeline where they can be self-sufficient, break free from poverty and build a better life for themselves filled with dignity.
Orphans experience more heartbreak in their lives than most people could ever imagine, for many losing one or both parents leads to a life of abject poverty, physical, psychological, and sexual abuse. They are no longer carefree children, are forced to grow up before their time and with no one to care for them. EOA Foundation believes that no child should be this vulnerable, lose their innocence and opportunities to better themselves. We can’t bring back their loved ones but we can help them rebuild their lives, remind them how to laugh and enjoy a new path.
EOA Foundation want to support widows and orphans by:
- Offering counselling and bereavement support for those who have been affected by the loss of their loved ones
- Give orphans access to education
- Support widows access training and develop a livelihood to generate income
- Clothing and Shoes
- Toys and Books
- Hygiene Products – soap, toothpaste, shampoo etc
- Blankets and Linens
- School Supplies – Pens, pencils, papers, notebooks etc
- First Aid Supplies – bandages, antiseptic creams, painkillers etc
- Cleaning Supplies – mops, buckets, rags, cleaning solutions etc
- Clothes detergent
- Non-Perishable Food Items
- Furniture – beds, chairs, tables, cupboards etc
For most developing countries educational development is like economic growth. Education is the key to a positive society. So what happens when providing an education for your child is incredibly difficult?
Originally EOA foundation wanted to sponsor a child each year, however, after looking at the bigger picture we believe more children deserve an education and a chance to step out of poverty, giving children the chance to succeed.
By working with local community leaders and educational authorities EOA foundation want to tackle pressing areas related to children’s education and close loops that leads to children dropping out of school.
How EOA Foundation will help:
- In rural villages EOA foundation will help establish local community-based farms which will provide ingredients for school meals removing the burdens for families to choose between school fees or meals
- Providing much needed school equipment and school supplies fit for purpose
- Providing reading books, study materials and writing books
- Providing essential back to school stationary and backpacks
- Providing uniform and shoes for those unable to meet the cost
- Providing funding for those who want to learn a new skill or trade
Future projects:
- Development of school infrastructure and facilities
- Opening a vocational school giving young people holistic training
Period poverty is a global crisis in both developed and developing countries; 2.3 billion people worldwide don’t have access to hygiene products and basic sanitary facilities and over 500 million females experience period poverty every month and many don’t even realize that it is an issue.
Period poverty is a harsh reality and Its time to stomp it out – with that being said we pledge to donate 9 million pads to local affected people and are committed to help fight against period poverty.
What is period poverty?
There is nothing luxurious about period pads, they are a basic necessity.
Period poverty is caused by a variety of social, economic and cultural factors.
It is a lack of access to proper menstrual products and the education needed to use them effectively.
A lack of sanitary period products can have multiple negative health effects on the female body; rendering the vagina vulnerable to infiltration by bacteria, cause itchiness, irritation, an increase in vaginal discharge and in serious cases cause toxic shock syndrome.
Why is it important to talk about period poverty:
No woman should be held back in life because of their period.
- So people on their periods feel supported
- If it’s no longer a secret, it’s easier to ask for help
- Tax abolishment on period products
- Challenge the stigmas of menstruation and raise a wider awareness of the issue
- Sanitary products will be more readily available
We will be giving period wellbeing packs to:
500 million women and girls don’t have what they need to manage their periods safely, hygienically and free from embarrassment
- Homeless women and girls
- Refugees and asylum seekers
- Incarcerated women
- Female students
- Rural community family practices
1 in 3 poor and low income women with periods have used toilet rolls, pieces of old cloths and newspapers as period products due to lack of income.
People go to prison as a punishment not for punishment; so Why should anyone care about prisoners? The answer is simple, prisoners have lost their right to being free and should not be subjected to additional cruelties that aggravates the suffering inherent in imprisonment. At EOA Foundation we believe that everyone deserves a second chance, we value the innate dignity and worth of every human being and all prisoners deserve the minimum standards that all humans have the right to.
After consultations with ex-prisoners we found out that hygiene and quality of food was often poor. EOA Foundation believe that the power of good food can change lives and nowhere is this more important than in prison. In addition to this feeling clean should not be a luxury or a privilege for anyone, it should be a basic need. This injustice has powered our passion to bring attention to this issue and launch two initiatives – the prisoner food parcels and the essential hygiene parcels.
Prisoner food parcels will include:
- Bread
- Milo/ tea / coffee / water
- Milk
- Gari
- 1 hot nutritious meal
- Ramadan food packs – to feed those fasting
Essentials Hygiene parcels will include:
- Toothpaste & toothbrush
- Body wash
- Deodorant
- Period products (for women prisoners)
